Building - Highway Access and Driveway

This area of the family property never had direct highway access. So the first order of business was to construct reliable access and an elevated driveway. Since this is commonly referred to as the “low country” making sure your driveway was a foot or two higher than the land was important. We lost count of how many loads of hard pan we had hauled to the property.

From the highway back to daylight in the field

Now we needed GDOT approved pipes at the hwy.

With Old Blue and a box blade we started spreading the hard pan.

Pretty soon the entrance to the field was taking shape.

Back towards the highway was looking good also.

After many hours and several loads the drive to the field was looking good.

Then the focus was building the elevated 400 feet driveway

Mission accomplished.

And GDOT approved the highway entrance.
